ROTOM HEALTH CENTERS: 

Centers of Excellence for Geriatric Care In Africa. 

Since the beginning of ROTOM, we  envisioned a future where older persons  live dignified and fulfilled lives. Key to  achieving this was increasing access to  healthcare for older persons (seniors)  as they struggle with the challenges of  aging. We dreamt of one day having a  dedicated health facility that would be  a haven, specially designed to address  the unique healthcare needs of the  vulnerable older persons we serve. 

Thanks to the incredible generosity of  ROTOM friends, ROTOM Health Centers in  Muhanga, Rukiga District and Mukono  were established in 2012 and 2013  respectively. Over the years, these heath  centers have become a cornerstone  of geriatric care for ROTOM supported  seniors and countless others in the  surrounding communities. 

Looking back, the impact thus far is  truly humbling. The ROTOM Health  Centers continue to provide a friendly  environment for older persons, with  

staff trained and oriented to care for  them. The services offered include  Outpatient and Inpatient Care,  Community Based Nursing Care,  Dementia Care, Nutrition Education  and Support, Physiotherapy, Diagnostic  Laboratory Services, Drug Dispensary,  Ultrasound Scan in Muhanga etc.  

Recognizing the importance of  preventative measures and early  intervention, ROTOM Health Centers  also offer medical outreach programs,  screenings, and home-based care  services. 

Over the past year, significant  advancements have been made. The  ROTOM Health Center in Muhanga is  establishing a theatre that will enhance  its surgical capabilities and expand  the range of care available to the  local population. At the ROTOM Health  Center in Mukono, the physiotherapy  department is undergoing a significant  upgrade to provide improved care  

and rehabilitation services for our  beneficiaries and other members of  the community. 

The dream we envisioned years ago  has become a reality! 

Based on the success of over 10 years  of ROTOM health Services, we now  understand the key pillars of Excellent  Geriatric Care in Africa. And this will be  our focus going forward

• Excellent Home-Based Care • Long-term Care 

• Dementia Care & Research and • Training of Professionals to Provide  Aging Care
